Cedar Street Grille – Sturbridge Gets It!
You’re sitting in a restaurant perusing the gluten-free menu when the server arrives to take your drink order. You start asking the usual questions about food prep and toasters when she tells you that one of the owners has celiac disease. You sit back, relax, and happily place your order. This is exactly what happened to us at Cedar Street Grille in Sturbridge, MA.
Cedar Street Grille is a self-described bistro serving small plates, sliders, and seasonal entrees. They have a separate gluten-free menu with lots of interesting options including hummus plates, quinoa buddha bowls, stuffed dates, sliders, mac and cheese, tuna, wings, seafood, risottos, and more. The atmosphere is informal and neighborhood-y, and they’ve won multiple awards for atmosphere, service, and overall.
One of our favorite things about the place (other than the delicious food!) was the fact that one of the owners has celiac disease. This means that although Cedar Street is not a dedicated gluten free facility, the kitchen is trained to prepare your meal carefully and separately – they get it.
Cedar Street Grille is owned by Table 3 Restaurant Group which also owns The Duck right down the street. The Duck has a different menu and lots of excellent and safe gluten-free options as well.
So, if you’re ever in Sturbridge or just passing through, stop in at Cedar Street Grille for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just a snack. And tell them we sent you!
