Gluten-Free Pretzel Buns? Yup.
Think pretzels and beer are outta the picture for you? Think again. At The Malted Barley in Westerly and Providence, RI, Â they can make most of their signature pretzels gluten free. Â The choices range from simply salted to asiago and parmesan, garlic and parsley, caraway, and stuffed with chipotle pepper and smoked gouda. But that’s not all – you can also get any of their sandwiches on a gluten-free pretzel bun! Options include hummus, chicken, the Barley Bacon Beast Burger, lobster roll, and more. The best part? They even serve dessert pretzels, including sugar and cinnamon and Nutella & ice cream. Â For our low carb friends, there are plenty of soups and salads on the menu as well.
But what about the beer? The Malted Barley  always has plenty of gluten-free beers available in bottles and cans, along with cider on tap. So don’t wait until you’re passing through Rhode Island to stop for soft pretzels and/or a cold one. This place is worth a special trip!
