Baldanza Natural Market Cafe – New Canaan

You might recognize Angela Baldanza from her recent victory on Food Network’s “Cooks Vs. Cons.”  But did you know that she and her husband Sandy own Baldanza Natural Market and Cafe in New Canaan?  Their menu is delightfully full of gluten-free options, using as many local ingredients as possible. From “power plates” full of veggies, green squash spaghettini, hummus, and organic red quinoa, to traditional green and quinoa salads, all with protein options. They also offer a wide and unique selection of healthy sandwiches, all available on gluten-free bread. But don’t forget breakfast, which is served all day, and can be served with gluten-free bread as well. Their house made soups are in very high demand, and for good reason. The soup menu varies seasonally, but as of this writing they had Butternut Squash, French Lentil, and Tuscan White Bean; all gluten and dairy free, and just like mom used to make.  Ok, maybe better. You can order them off the menu, and even buy a container to take home afterwards. Their soup can also be purchased at local retail locations listed on their website. However you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Angela and Sandy’s passion for natural, organic, and local foods makes Baldanza a perfect spot for a gluten-free meal that tastes delicious and feels good, too.

*Baldanza is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. However, they can accommodate allergies on request. As always, use your own judgement and ask lots of questions when eating out. We’re just trying to make it easier and a whole lot more delicious!
