Bam Bam Bakery: Gluten-Free Heaven in Portland

Bam Bam Bakery in Portland, Maine is a little different from other dedicated gluten-free bakeries. Not only do they offer an incredible bounty of sweet and savory baked goods daily, but there’s coffee to go with them, along with groovy tables and chairs to sit and enjoy.  Their converted warehouse space sports high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, original brick walls, and mismatched seating. It’s pure Portland, and we just love it.

Bam Bam offers a huge number of daily dessert options, so this is not a choice to be made hastily. Take time to walk through the displays and the refrigerated cases, savoring the fact that it’s all for YOU. Items that contain egg and other allergens are clearly marked, and with notice, they’re happy to fill special orders to suit your dietary needs.

They’ve got a daily breakfast sandwich that they’ll heat up for you, along with quiche and their rotating daily “Breakfast Cake.” (pictured above) They’ve also got the usual suspects like cookies, bars, cupcakes and muffins, along with all sorts of unique treats that they dream up in-house. It’s never the same bakery twice, which is totally fun, but it’s always warm, welcoming, and delicious. And, before you leave, pick up a loaf of bread to take home – they’re stocked daily!
