We’ve just discovered an incredible gluten-free cafe, juice bar and market in Leominster, MA. We may be late to the party here, but we don’t care. Roots Natural Foods is a must-see.
Roots was founded by a mother/daughter duo in 2002, about a mile away from their current spot. They quickly realized that they’d need more room, and have been in their business park location ever since.
The cafe is currently grab-n-go, but the selection of gluten-free soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts is as great as ever. The baked goods are always gluten free, always vegan, and always prepared separately. These guys know how to avoid cross-contamination.
The Roots market carries tons of New England-made foods and products, including a wide selection of gluten-free everything. Breads, chips, pasta, ravioli, flours – you name it, they have it. Add in the 100% GF and vegan juice bar, and what else could you need, really?
Pre-COVID, Roots operated a proper cafe, offered yoga classes, and even ran occasional events. And, one day soon, this will all resume. In the meantime, they still enjoy their role as the largest natural foods market in the area, with a tight-knit and caring staff, nourishing their customers from the inside out.
