Jake’s Seafood: Heaven in Hull

There are a handful of places throughout New England that have converted ALL of their fryers to gluten free. This means that ALL the fried food on their menus is gluten free, whether it’s requested or not. Jakes Seafood in Hull, MA is one of those places, and we love ’em for it.

Jake’s is a bit of an institution in Hull, serving up huge portions of incredibly fresh seafood, right on the water.  There’s a large dining room, a bar, an incredible view, outdoor seating, and even an attached fish market.  The menu is traditional New England, but you won’t find a “GF” notation on it. Don’t despair, just tell your server that your meal needs to be gluten free and prepared separately, and they’ll do it right. They’re not dedicated gluten free, but they’re super careful in the kitchen.

Fried shrimp, fried clams, cod, fish and chips, french fries, and incredible onion rings – they’re all options at Jake’s, and they’re crazy delicious. Not in the mood for fried food? The salads are huge, creative, and awesome. They also have broiled seafood, soups, and more. So, before the cold weather sets in, take a drive south of Boston and treat yourself to a meal at Jake’s. And, if any other restaurants are reading this, take note – gluten free is GOOD!
