When Dena Freedman’s 3-year old Type 1 Diabetic son was diagnosed with celiac disease, she was at a loss. Already a picky eater, she worried about his diet becoming even more restricted. He always loved challah, so she set out to make the best gluten-free challah around. And it worked. In 2018, she launched The Gluten-Free Challah Queen.
All products are made in Dena’s own glatt Kosher and dedicated gluten-free kitchen (although not certified). All items are also 100% free from nuts and are parve (dairy free & vegetarian) as well.
Offerings include challah (traditional and round), rolls, babkas, cookies, and brownies. Special orders are accepted as well, and everything freezes well for 1-2 months. The Challah Queen does offer shipping, and for those who celebrate, orders must be placed on Sundays for Shabbat delivery.
