Granby Village Health
Granby Village Health is one of the oldest health food stores in the Hartford area. Family owned and operated, they have a large and loyal customer base, and for good reason. A few years ago, they moved to a bigger space, allowing them to add hot food, a small cafe, and a smoothie bar. The adorable cafe offers a standard daily menu of vegetarian and vegan items(kids menu too!) all available with vegan cheese, along with with rotating house-made soups. The market carries a wide selection of gluten-free and dairy-free products, some fresh produce, herbs, frozen foods, Pure Love breads and more, as well as an entire case dedicated to vegan chocolates from Divine Treasures in Manchester. And, if you’ve got your littles in tow, there’s a complimentary basket of fruit to keep them occupied. We ordered the Rueben on GF bread, made with tempeh, house-made cole slaw, vegan cheese, with house-made vegan thousand island dressing, and we’re not sure that we’ve ever had so much fun eating “free from!”
