Bread and Jam Bakery is a brand-new dedicated gluten-free bakery in Unity, Maine. It all started in December 2019, when Tamika Adjemian opened Unity Kitchen. The menu was local, fresh, and homemade, along with numerous celiac-safe gluten-free baked goods. A celiac herself, Tamika has always been committed to developing recipes and helping others to navigate their own gluten-free lifestyles. Then COVID happened, and a business that would have ordinarily grown and thrived, couldn’t.
Tamika decided to make a change. Just a few weeks ago, she closed Unity Kitchen to start Bread and Jam Bakery, a brand-new dedicated gluten-free bakery in the same space. The response has been quite enthusiastic, and for good reason!
Customers can preorder and pick up at the bakery, and special orders are welcome. On request, Tamika can make many items dairy free, and some items egg free as well. The menu is limited at the moment, but there are big plans in the works.
We’re excited to see how the bakery menu evolves, as Tamika is hinting at a fresh bread subscriptions, sourdough, stuffed cookies and more. She currently sells product to members of the Daybreak Growers Alliance CSA, and her goal is to work with Maine co-ops as well. But you can always place your own order at the link below. A new website is coming soon.
