Red Heat Tavern

If you haven’t already heard, our trusty and delicious Burton’s Grill has spawned a sister chain of celiac-safe eateries called Red Heat Tavern. There are currently 3 Red Heats in MA with another in the works, and a brand new one in Connecticut. The menu is pub-style, with all the usual fried suspects. The difference here is that you can eat ALL of it, so be sure to go hungry, as we did last week.

Red Heats are not dedicated GF but each location follows the same strict food prep guidelines, with dedicated fryers and plate color designation. Nearly everything on the menu can be made safely gluten free, from appetizers like corn bread and fried pickles to fried chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, sweet potato fries, onion rings and more…how fun is that? Our server was incredibly well-informed, asked all the right questions, and even double-checked on certain items.   Dessert was a skillet chocolate chip cookie, also available with ice cream. We walked out completely stuffed, but safely so!  Check out pics of what we ordered below and go give these guys a try – they make eating gluten free fun again!
