Starbucks
Starbucks finally did it. They have given us smoked Canadian bacon, egg, and reduced fat cheddar cheese on a ciabatta roll. All gluten free, and celiac safe, or as safe as it gets for a national chain. These sandwiches arrive at the store pre-wrapped and frozen. After we ordered, the server used dedicated gluten-free tongs to put the still-wrapped sandwich into the microwave. After it was heated, she removed it with the same tongs, and placed it into a bag for us. Of course, nothing can ever be 100% guaranteed, but this looked to be a safe process to us. And it actually tasted pretty good! Add in all of the fun gluten-free snacks and treats that Starbucks keeps on hand, as well as the non-dairy milk, and you just might feel “normal” again. (wink)
