It’s ski season and if you’re like the rest of us, you’re looking for comfy accommodations with safe meals. Â Stowe Meadows Lodge, a celiac-safe inn in Stowe, Vermont has it. Boy, do they ever.
Nestled on 32 beautiful acres only 5 miles from Stowe town center, owners Caroline and Erich DeVore designed the huge home as a family retreat 20 years ago. In 2007 they opened it as a luxurious inn, and it quickly became an exclusive destination for skiers, foliage peepers, vacationers and ‘staycationers.’
The best part? Â They’re self-proclaimed experts when it comes to gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian dining. (Caroline has celiac disease, making this claim totally legit!) Â On weekends there’s a three course farm-to-breakfast included, using ingredients from their own and other local organic farms. Weekday mornings include a basket of treats delivered to your door. If you’re headed out early, they’ll even pack it up to go.
There’s direct access from the grounds to trails for hiking, snow shoeing, biking and cross-country skiing, as well as a stocked pond for fishing. Not to mention robes, heated floors, snacks, fireplaces, turndown service, and so much more.
Caroline and Erich’s motto is “Delight Every Guest,” and from the reviews we’ve read, they are certainly succeeding. So, the next time you’re looking for a luxurious getaway with safe meals and awesome hosts, pay Stowe Meadows a visit. You’ll just have to get in line behind us.
