Sugar Bowl Luncheonette
The Sugar Bowl Luncheonette is a Darien institution, and we can see why. Serving breakfast and lunch until 3pm daily, dining at Sugar Bowl is more than just a meal. It’s an experience. Their menu offers diner-type fare in a fun, neighborhood atmosphere. They offer gluten-free pancakes, waffles, and french toast, and any of their sandwiches can be made on gluten-free bread. The seating is close and cozy, but it’s all part of the fun. During our visit, we saw folks of all ages enjoying family meals, celebrating birthdays, and just reading the paper. Their over-the-top seasonal decor is an extra perk. (Parents note – excellent place for I-Spy). If you arrive on a weekend morning, you may have to wait a few minutes to grab yourself a table, but it’s totally worth it.
