The Best Gluten-Free Stuffing Recipe – It’s Easy!
We recently posted a rundown of gluten-free stuffing mixes because people are busy these days, and there are so many good ones out there. But the best stuffing is the kind you make yourself. Here’s our personal favorite, adapted from a family recipe.
Gluten-Free Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups of sodium-free chicken broth
- 1/2 onion, chopped fine
- 1 stalk of celery, chopped fine
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1/2 cup butter or dairy-free alternative
- 1 loaf of stale bread (we like Udi’s or Three Bakers for this purpose!)
Directions
- Cut the bread into cubes and spread in one layer on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until lightly toasted.
- In a large pot melt butter over medium heat. Add onion & celery and cook until tender.
- Add seasonings and mix.
- Add bread cubes and stir until all cubes are coated.
- Pour the chicken broth over the cubes and mix well.
- Pour into a greased 2.5 qt. bake casserole for 35-45 minutes or until done.
*Make it vegetarian/vegan by using vegetable broth and GF/vegan bread!
* Add extra veggies, different seasonings, or anything you want – it all works!
