Zest Fresh Pastry – Stonington/Mystic
Next time you’re in Mystic, do yourself a favor and check out Zest Fresh Pastry in Stonington. Located inside a restored warehouse, you can see straight through the front of the shop into the expansive kitchen, where the staff is busily baking and packaging. Â We visited on a quiet Thursday afternoon, and found Zest fully stocked with freshly made gluten-free goodies. From mini bundt cakes to brownies, from macaroons to mini cupcakes, you can go big or small, depending on your appetite. Or, you can go big AND small, as we did. The warehouse is also home to some funky art galleries and shops, making it all the more fun.
Special Order Cakes and More in Mystic!
Zest makes special order cakes, and they cater events and parties, including weddings. They also make and sell their own vanilla extract. They’ve got a new location opening soon in Woodland, CA, which we wish was in CT, but that’s ok, we can wait (hint).
Although they may not be located on the main drag, no one seems to have any trouble finding Zest. So go find them for yourself  – you’ll be glad you did!
