If you’re looking for a food truck with gluten-free options in Greater Hartford, track down Craftbird Food Truck. They’ve got lots of safe gluten-free options, they know how to prepare them, and the food is just plain awesome.
As you might expect, Craftbird’s menu revolves around chicken; chicken sandwiches, to be specific. There’s the classic Yardbird with pickled and sriracha honey, the Hot Bird (extra spicy), smoked chicken salad and more. All of the chicken (except for the chicken salad) is fried, using dedicated gluten-free fryers, and gluten-free rolls are available. If you’re not in the mood for a sandwich or you’ve got the kids in tow, they offer dedicated gluten-free chicken tenders as well.
When we asked about other gluten-free items on the menu, the person taking our order quickly rattled off a list of safe options, which was reassuring. We chose the hand-cut potato wedges and street corn.
Craftbird always posts where the truck will be on Facebook , and if you wanna just grab and go, you even can pre-order online. They’re often located at the Gastropark in West Hartford, which is a food truck gathering place with a coffee bar and plenty of way cool seating, both inside and out. (This is where we found them!). They also cater, do private parties, and will open their own brick and mortar store in Newington, CT very soon.
Whether you live in CT or are just passing through, Craftbird is a must-eat!
